funny RPG parody,
December 27, 2010 This review is from: Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes [Download] (Software Download)
You like Party RPGs and also a bit "Kings Bounty / Heroes"-like turn based combat?
You like humor in the style of Monkey Island, Deathspank , Penny Arcade or Bard's Tale?
Then this indie RPG pearl is perfect for you!
You are the most unlucky guy in the world: An Emo! In your Company there are crazy characters like the
extreme Holy "Duke Nukem Ultima Parody" Avatar, jealous virgins, and a perverted goblin thief!
This game is not made for the hardcore tactic Progamer (recommended: try the hard difficult), but for all RPG loving fans, Ex-WoW gamers (like me
;)) and yes... also for women! It's very easy to learn and after you played a few hours it will become more complex, because you get more and more party members each with unique skills.
Recommended: Patch 1.1.5.0 for optimized english language.
Game length: around 15 hours. That's ok for this price and I hope there will be a sequel.

How can you not like this game?,
March 4, 2011 This review is from: Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes [Download] (Software Download)
I loved this game! I'm no expert on German humor, but either they know whats funny or they replaced them with english jokes that work. I laughed and chuckled quite a bit. I can see where the style of humor isn't everyone's taste, but I don't know any styles of humor that are. I found this game refreshing and funny, I even played it all the way through more than once. It's an indie game, so yeah, I didn't expect it to be bug-free but the recent patch did a sweet job fixing it up and improving the graphics, which were above average for indie games to begin with.
It's a humor game, so either you love it or you hate it, and if you don't like one thing you generally tend to be prejudiced towards the other elements, the above review shows that. I, on the other hand, love this game! The character Holy Avatar is my friggin hero. I'm glad I made the decision to give this game a try, it was awesome and definitely worth the buy.

Fun little game,
May 17, 2011 This review is from: Grotesque Tactics: Evil Heroes [Download] (Software Download)
I admit, it took me a few battles before I finally got into the game. It's a really cute parody of formulaic RPG games. And it is nice to play a game that does not take itself too seriously.
