This review is from: Deadly 30 [Download] (Software Download) I came across this game on an Indie Game site and was instantly intrigued. World War II hero, surrounded by zombie hordes, defending a house by night and searching for scrap and survivors by day, all rolled into one little 2D package.... how could you go wrong? The answer is you can't. From start to finish the game is fun and extremely tense. The game plays out on a 2D plane where you have to constantly run to the left side of your house and kill zombies. Then rush back to the right side to kill some more, all while trying to keep tabs on your ammo count and making sure that you repair fences and defend your generator. After the tense nighttime passes, exploring outside for survivors can still be deadly but at least you can see what's coming. Finding survivors and bringing them back to the house before night time is key to staying alive. Having the extra help makes all the difference. I could go on and on but I will just say, this game is great and it's definitely worth purchasing... This review is from: Deadly 30 [Download] (Software Download) Easily comparable to Left 4 Dead but in a 2D world where you must survive 30 days of scavenging the nearby countryside for supplies and 30 nights defending your central base from zombie siege. Time is constant and the days nerve wrackingly short. Morning, patch up/upgrade your base, then dash through the countryside to scavenge. Estimate how long it will take you to return home based on the sun's position and race back before night falls. Get caught outside when the sun goes down and death is all but assured. As the nights progress, newer, nastier creatures will come for you. A few chapter breaks appear where some small bit of dialogue or silliness between the soldiers will provide a bit of personality to your crew. And like Left 4 Dead, they also have a few charming comments they make while out on the road from how much the marine loves his country, the russian misses his homeland and the nazi woman praising the superiority of the aryan race.
