One of the most beautiful hidden object games to come out in 2010, Mystery of Mortlake Mansion features superb animation and a unique hand-drawn art style presented with detailed high-resolution graphics.

Typical of haunted house stories, you receive an urgent letter from a distant relative and soon find yourself locked in a mansion trying to find a way out. As you progress from room to room solving puzzles and finding objects to open doors and secret pathways, it's not long before you discover the owner was working on a way to travel to another dimension. Without spoiling any surprises, the things you soon discover are quite innovative and make for a unique and thoroughly enjoyable experience.

While there are some spooky ghosts and villains it's not a violent game so all but the youngest kids should enjoy it. The hints come easy for casual players like me so hidden object pros may want to jump straight to the harder difficulty if they want a challenge. Puzzles... Read more

I am extremely sorry to bust the near perfect rating for this game because I really liked it and would have easily given it a 4 star or more rating.

But halfway (or so) through I encountered a problem that didn't allow me to proceed. After searching the internet high and low for a solution, a patch, etc., I came up with nothing. This leads me to believe that inadvertently I must have done something to cause this behavior. My guess is that I played in a slightly different order than the programmers had intended, thus bringing it to an unintended but sadly complete halt.

During the game one goes from room to room, completing tasks and collecting objects, most importantly so-called Ingredients, which must be placed in an altar in order to obtain a key which is then placed in a corresponding lock. Altogether 6 keys, each of a different color, must be collected. The game has a map that the player can consult to see where he is at any given time, which rooms have been... Read more

I am fairly new to PC games. Based on favorable reviews, I bought Gardenscapes and really like it. When I saw this new release from Playrix Games I downloaded it as well.
It has similar terrific hidden object graphics as Gardenscapes. This is a much more interesting game however. There are other types of games to complete in order to "solve the mystery of the mansion."
The characters and their "messages" are a bit strange (but it is a haunted house after all).
Overall I would highly recommend this game.
